OVERVIEW

Head-to-head competition is returning to the Disc Golf Pro Tour in 2025 with an expanded Match Play Championship format. This season, 32 players (16 each in the FPO and MPO divisions) will compete to qualify for a Match Play Championship taking place Nov. 7 – Nov. 9 at Hornet’s Nest in Charlotte, NC.

Initially, the 16 players in each division will be split into four groups of four players. These groups will compete in head-to-head match play throughout the season. Once group play is complete, the top two players in each group will advance to the Championship.

November’s Match Play Championship will take place over three days, featuring eight players per division in a three-round, single-elimination bracket culminating in a Championship showdown on Sunday in both the FPO and MPO divisions. Players knocked out in Friday’s quarterfinal or Saturday’s semifinal will move to a loser bracket and will play off for 3rd-8th place.
