The European swing of the Disc Golf Pro Tour is moving fast, and we are officially heading into the final Elite Series stop on this year’s EuroTour: the Heinola Open presented by MVP, taking place this weekend, July 10–12, at the Kippis Championship Discgolfpark in Heinola, Finland.

Because of where this tournament falls on the global calendar, there are a few unique moving pieces for fans to understand regarding how the event will run, how points are awarded on the Tour standings, and how you can watch the action.

As previously announced alongside the DGPT’s 2026 schedule release, the tight turnaround between the final putt in Finland and the next Major in the United States (USWDGC) means a few adjustments from a normal Elite Series weekend for the FPO division. Whether you are planning to follow along on the Disc Golf Network or catch the post-produced coverage, here is a breakdown of everything you need to know ahead of tee-off.

How are points being distributed at the Heinola Open?

Here’s the breakdown for both divisions.

  • MPO Division: Will compete for full DGPT Powerball World Standings points (150 points to the winner) as well as points toward the separate DGPT EuroTour points standings.
  • FPO Division: Will not receive DGPT Powerball World Standings points at this event. However, the FPO field will still compete for and earn points toward the separate DGPT EuroTour points standings, which serve as the primary pathway to securing a 2027 Tour Card for the European region.

This information was initially announced in the 2026 Schedule announcement (August 27, 2025) and was also included in the Tour’s lookahead article covering the 2026 European Season. Notes were also included in the EuroTour schedule announcement (January 13, 2026) and in the Standings Structure announcement (January 23, 2026).

Player Council Collaboration on Points Decision

This points structure was determined in direct consultation and coordination with the DGPT Player Council ahead of the 2026 season. The Heinola Open concludes on Sunday, July 12th in Heinola, Finland. The U.S. Women’s Disc Golf Championship (USWDGC) – a crucial PDGA Pro Major for the FPO field – begins just four days later on Thursday, July 16th, in Salt Lake City, Utah. Recognizing that this leaves a tight three-day window for the majority of the FPO touring field to travel back to the states, adjust to a 9-hour time zone difference, and practice for the event, the Player Council and the Tour decided to remove World Standings points from the FPO division for this event so that athletes could prioritize their Major preparation.

Is there live coverage at the Heinola Open? Where can I watch post-produced action?

As detailed in the EuroTour Media Plan released on April 27, 2026, the broadcast and post-production structure will also adapt to the split logistics of the touring field.

Because the majority of the international FPO field will be actively traveling back to the United States during the event, the live broadcast will be focused entirely on the MPO field, with no live broadcast for the FPO division.

Here is how you can follow the action from Kippis this weekend:

Division Live Coverage Post-Pro Coverage
FPO No live coverage MDG Media
MPO Disc Golf Network JomezPro

Note on FPO Coverage: While the Disc Golf Network will not have a live broadcast crew on the ground for the FPO division, fans will not miss out on the action. The Tour is collaborating closely with MDG Media, which will be releasing dedicated post-produced coverage of the FPO lead card. This media coverage plan reflects the fact that the FPO division at the Heinola Open is still competing for points on the EuroTour Standings, which has events that go beyond the 2026 Elite Series in Europe, all covered by MDG Media. Looking Ahead

Following the conclusion of the Heinola Open on July 12th, the Elite Series portion of the Tour will officially return to the United States, with the Ledgestone Open kicking off on July 30th in Peoria, IL. Meanwhile, the DGPT EuroTour presented by OTB Europe will continue its season through August and September, supporting the continued development of the European regional player and fan community. There are three additional events on the EuroTour after Heinola, including another stop in Finland, and trips to the Czech Republic and Poland.
