Pro disc golf is BACK, and we’re kicking off the DGPT’s 10th season in supreme style! The action returns to the stunning Olympus Disc Golf Course in Brooksville, Florida, for the 2025 All-Star Challenge and the Discraft Supreme Flight Open.

Co-managed by 6x World Champion Paul McBeth and MLB pitcher Dylan Cease, this premier 18-hole course blends dramatic elevation changes with Florida’s natural beauty, creating a layout that pushes the world’s best players to their limits.

After a long off-season, these events give pros the perfect stage to showcase their skills, shake off the rust, and set the tone for the season ahead.

As we recently announced, the annual All-Star competition will take place in the weeks following the DGPT Championship, resulting in two events this year—one at the start and one at the end of the season. The first will feature 2024 qualifiers, while the fall event will showcase 2025 qualifiers.

SUPREME FLIGHT OPEN: FPO LOOKAHEAD

  • FPO1 Feature Card: Eveliina Salonen, Holyn Handley, Missy Gannon, & Jordan Lynds
  • FPO2 Feature Card: Ella Hansen, Paige Pierce, Paige Shue, & Madison Walker

Here’s a look at the top storylines headed into this weekend:

1️⃣ Missy Gannon Opens 2025 as the Tour Leader

Missy Gannon enters the 2025 season as the reigning DGPT points champion after a dominant 2024 campaign, securing six combined Major and DGPT wins. Gannon is making her season debut at Supreme Flight Open, and with Kristin Lätt absent, she has a prime opportunity to establish herself as the early leader. The question is whether she can maintain her high level and fend off challengers like Holyn Handley, Eveliina Salonen, and Ohn Scoggins.

2️⃣ Eveliina Salonen’s Streaky Putting & Elite Driving

Eveliina Salonen had a resurgent 2024, winning four combined Major and Elite Series events after going without a win on Tour from 2021-2023. Her win at the Chess.com Invitational was one of the most interesting statistical performances of the year—she had the lowest average putt make distance (8.9 feet) of any winner in 2024 and didn’t hit a single Circle 2 putt. This speaks to her elite driving ability, as she often parked her approaches and minimized the need for long putts. If her putting improves even slightly, she could be the player to beat in 2025.

3️⃣ Can Paige Pierce Recapture Her Early-Season Magic?

Paige Pierce has historically been one of the strongest starters on tour, having won the first DGPT event of the season four times (2016, 2017, 2018, 2021). However, after an up-and-down 2024 season, it remains to be seen if she can return to her winning ways. Pierce’s aggressive playing style has always made her a threat, and if she can put together a strong performance at the Supreme Flight Open, she could once again become a major title contender in 2025.

SUPREME FLIGHT OPEN: MPO LOOKAHEAD

  • MPO1 Feature Card: Anthony Barela, Paul McBeth, Ezra Robinson, & Calvin Heimburg
  • MPO2 Feature Card: Ricky Wysocki, Chris Dickerson, Cale Leiviska, & Garrett Gurthie

Here’s a look at the top storylines headed into this weekend:

1️⃣ Gannon Buhr Chasing More Records

Coming off a historic 2024 with nine Major and Elite Series wins and a new all-time earnings record ($211,432), Gannon Buhr is the player to beat in 2025. He broke the DGPT single-season Elite/Standard wins record (7) and tied Paul McBeth’s 2019 record for the most wins in a single season (9—includes DGPT and PDGA Pro Majors). With 23 top-10 finishes in 24 events, his consistency was unmatched. He’s already off to a strong start in 2025, winning the Memorial Championship—can he keep his record-breaking pace and stay atop the DGPT World Standings?

2️⃣ Anthony Barela’s Hot Starts—Can He Keep It Up?

Anthony Barela made a statement by winning the 2024 season opener, leading to three more DGPT wins last year. He took three of his first five events but won just once in his next 18 Major/Elite starts. In 2025, he opened strong with back-to-back runner-up finishes in pre-season competition. Barela can start fast, but to contend for the DGPT points title, he must sustain that level all season. Can he finally find the consistency to challenge the sport’s best every week?

3️⃣ Paul McBeth at Olympus—Starting A Legacy

Paul McBeth’s dominance at Olympus DGC is undeniable, boasting six career wins at the venue, including five A-tiers. However, 2024 was a rough year by his standards. He placed 52nd at the Chess.com Invitational—one of four finishes outside the top 50, marking the first time in his career he had multiple low finishes in a season. Even more surprising, McBeth failed to win a single Major or Elite Series event, breaking a streak dating back to 2010. Now entering 2025, he’s looking to turn things around and reclaim his spot among the sport’s elite. The Supreme Flight Open offers a familiar setting, but will that be enough for McBeth to bounce back?

All the action starts on Friday, February 28th! Tune in to the Disc Golf Network and catch post-pro coverage from JomezPro all weekend.
