Top 5 Moments from the 2026 Jonesboro Open
After a year’s hiatus, the Tour returned to Disc Side of Heaven in Jonesboro, Arkansas for the 9th time. The 2026 Play it Again Sports Jonesboro Open presented by Westside Discs had everything and more. Gannon Buhr continued his dominance with another win, while Henna Blomroos experienced the thrill of a DGPT victory for the first time.
1. Henna Blomroos, a Tour Champion
Henna Blomroos conquered Disc Side of Heaven, shooting -14 to earn her first DGPT victory! Blomroos has had success at Jonesboro in the past including a podium finish, two top tens, and she shooting the FPO hot round of 57 (rated 1019) back in 2019. Henna carried her early-season momentum into the weekend, captured the lead, and battled down the stretch for the win. Blomroos tallied five birdies on the back nine, which propelled her to the top, beating Holyn Handley by a single stroke.
Blomroos is the seventh European FPO player and third player from Finland to win a tour event. She tackled Disc Side of Heaven off the tee, gaining 21.17 strokes tee to green while also leading the field in parked percentage at 17% (9/54). Her putting was enough to keep her in it at (68% C1X). Henna battled the wind and shot -7 on day one. With this milestone checked off, Henna can take this momentum without the pressure of getting her first win, which should put the FPO field on notice.
2. Gannon Buhr Can’t be Stopped
Gannon Buhr owns Jonesboro, the Tour, and the MPO field right now. In his 100th ES/major start, Buhr blistered Disc Side of Heaven, shooting -31 on the weekend and fending off a charging Adam Hammes and Isaac Robinson to take his third victory of the season. Jonesboro highlights a full circle moment for the best disc golfer in the world, marking his first ever DGPT start back in 2020. Historically, Gannon has struggled here. He had not finished on the podium in his last five starts at Disc Side of Heaven; his best result before this weekend being a fifth place in 2022.
Buhr did everything right, especially off the tee, to collect his 22nd career tour victory. He led the field in strokes gained tee to green (15.77) and C1 in regulation 65% (35/54). Gannon built a five-shot lead for Championship Sunday and kept Robinson at bay on the back nine to seal the win. Buhr is hunting his 9-win performance in (2024) and is on a blistering pace. He has captured first or second in all five DGPT starts this year, and is now 1/3rd of the way to matching his previous 9-win season with the Kansas City Wide Open up next week, an event he won last year. Gannon’s performance is truly historic and elicits McBeth 2015 or Ken Climo Era comparisons. He is the favorite every weekend right now, and a ten-win season is certainly within reach.
3. Isaac Robinson Scorches the Course, Takes Second
Isaac Robinson went off in the final two rounds shooting -11 on Saturday and followed up his moving day performance with a bogey-free -12, 1086 final round to vault up two spots into second place. His tremendous final-day push was one stroke better than the hot round at Jonesboro in 2024, where he carded a 52 in the second round. Robinson’s putter didn’t hit the ground from inside the circle on Sunday, and he drove home two from C2 en route to his -12 (51).
Isaac’s final two rounds pushed him into second place, but an opening -4 (1028) ultimately killed his chances at overtaking Gannon. Robinson is having a stellar start to his 2026 campaign, securing four top tens, two podiums, and earning his best finish this weekend. Isaac takes this momentum into the Kansas City Wide Open, hoping to improve on last year’s sixth-place outing.
4. Holyn Handley Garners Second Place
Holyn Handley continued her stellar start to the season, showing why she was atop the Powerball DGPT World Standings coming into this tournament. Handley shot -13 and took second place, just one stroke shy of forcing a playoff with Blomroos. Holyn pushed hard on the front nine and even took the lead after a birdie on hole seven, but two bogeys slowed her down on the back nine. Her second-place finish is another notch in what has been a great season so far.
Handley hasn’t finished outside the podium this season, and has earned a win already at The Big Easy Open.
5. Adam Hammes Earns Podium Spot
Adam Hammes continued his solid start to 2026 this weekend in Jonesboro. He entered Championship Sunday down five to Gannon Buhr and worked to close gap throughout the round, but his -7 wasn’t enough to catch Buhr. Hammes finished in third at -25 to earn his first podium of the season. Adam was consistent, shooting -9 on Friday and Saturday, but his putter let him down on the final day with three putts missed from C1X. Hammes is shaping a rock solid 2026 resume with a top ten finish at every event so far except the Queen City Classic, including 8th at Champions Cup and this week’s podium finish.
