The final round broadcast times for the USDGC and Throw Pink have been moved one hour earlier, due to the potential for weather to impact the event and cause delays. Here are the updated Championship Sunday live Disc Golf Network broadcast times (for Sunday, 10.12.25).
- FPO (Throw Pink): Coverage begins at 8:30 AM ET / 7:30 AM CT / 5:30 AM PT / 3:30 PM EEST
- MPO (USDGC): Coverage begins at 2:00 PM ET / 1:00 PM CT / 11:00 AM PT / 9:00 PM EEST
The United States Disc Golf Championship (USDGC) returns to Winthrop University as the last PDGA Pro Major of the season! Born from the vision of Harold Duvall, Jonathan Poole, and Dave Dunipace, USDGC has grown into one of the sport’s most prestigious events. Since 1999, the storied Winthrop University Disc Golf Course in Rock Hill, South Carolina, has hosted this iconic tournament—known for its demanding fairways, tight out-of-bounds, and signature challenges like the bamboo wall on Hole 7.
Running alongside the USDGC, the Throw Pink Women’s Disc Golf Championship (TPWDGC) — an FPO PDGA A-Tier event — will showcase the very best in the women’s field, an event that also supports women’s health initiatives through disc golf events nationwide. This week, these two premier events will once again serve as the final weekend of elite competition ahead of the 10th DGPT Championship.

WATCH EVERY ROUND LIVE ON DGN PRO!

WEATHER THIS WEEKEND
The 2025 United States Disc Golf Championship and Throw Pink Women’s Disc Golf Championship in Rock Hill, SC, are shaping up for a mostly pleasant weekend with comfortable temperatures and consistent northward winds. Highs will stay in the upper 60s to low 70s Thursday and Friday, warming slightly to the low-to-mid 70s Saturday and Sunday. No precipitation is currently forecasted, making for mostly dry conditions on the course. Winds will generally stay out of the north, providing steady playing conditions, though fans should keep an eye on the potential development of a tropical storm or hurricane off the coast, as any landward shift could significantly impact the forecast for Saturday and Sunday.

Here’s a look at the top storylines headed into this weekend:
1️⃣ Holyn Handley Chasing a Second Throw Pink Title
Coming off a tough loss at the MVP Open, Holyn Handley returns to Winthrop looking to capture her second TPWDGC title after defeating Kristin Lätt in a playoff in 2023. Handley has 7 career M/ES victories, and in all of them, she held the lead or was tied for the lead entering the final round.
Despite this, Handley isn’t immune to losing the lead, with nine career instances of taking second or worse after starting in 1st place on Championship Sunday. Adding a Throw Pink win to her 2025 DGPT Points Title would make her the first player ever to achieve that double in a single year.
2️⃣ Missy Gannon’s Rise to #1
Missy Gannon recently became the #1 player in the world according to the FPO StatMando Rankings, ending Kristin Lätt’s 159-week reign at the top (separate from the PDGA Official World Rankings). Just taking down the 2025 MVP Open, Gannon is making her bid for back-to-back wins at Throw Pink after strong showings earlier this year, including wins at the PDGA Champions Cup and Cascade Challenge.
Gannon is aiming to add another TPWDGC title to her résumé (she won in 2021) and continue her meteoric rise in the women’s game.
3️⃣ The Fight for Player of the Year
The 2025 season has been a battle between three standout performers: Handley, Silva Saarinen, and Missy Gannon, all with four M/ES wins this year.
- Handley has competed in the most events (19), with the highest number of M/ES podiums and Top-10 finishes.
- Saarinen boasts the best average finish at M/ES events (4.00).
- Gannon holds a Major win (Champions Cup) this season, as does Saarinen (EDGF).
The Throw Pink will could play a pivotal role in voting for the 2025 FPO Player of the Year, and small margins in late rounds could decide the outcome.
4️⃣ Late-Round Drama and Comebacks
Recent FPO history shows that winning often requires a late-round surge. The last three M/ES events saw winners come back from 2+ strokes behind in the final round to take the title. With Winthrop’s challenging layout, competitors will be looking to execute clutch performances down the stretch.
Handley, Gannon, and other top contenders all have the ability to pull off these late-round comebacks, making the final day unpredictable.
5️⃣ Depth of the Field and Emerging Contenders
The 2025 Throw Pink field is historically deep—all competitors have a PDGA player rating over 900, a first for the event.
- Ohn Scoggins has three Top-10s at Throw Pink and will look to build on her 2nd-place finish in 2024.
- Ella Hansen is coming off a finish outside the top-20 (21st) at TPWDGC 2024, following her career-best 5th-place finish at TPWDGC 2023.
- Paige Pierce, a multiple PDGA Pro Major champion and recent 2025 GMC winner, remains a threat with her strong round history at Winthrop.

1️⃣ Gannon Buhr Chasing Back-to-Back Titles
Gannon Buhr enters Winthrop as the reigning USDGC champion and 2025 DGPT points winner. Only Ken Climo (1999-2000) and Will Schusterick (2010, 2012) have successfully defended a USDGC title, making Buhr’s attempt at consecutive wins rare and historically significant.
A third USDGC win would also place Buhr in an elite club of players with 3+ US championships, joining legends like Climo, McBeth, and Schultz. With his recent form and multiple 6+ win seasons in the books, Buhr is a favorite to make history.
2️⃣ Paul McBeth Looking to Rekindle USDGC Glory
Paul McBeth has returned to form in 2025 with two Major/Elite wins, and he holds three USDGC titles (2015, 2018, 2021). McBeth did not play the 2023 USDGC due to a shoulder injury and finished 10th last year, but Winthrop has historically been a strong venue for him.
McBeth has 13 seasons with multiple Major/Elite wins, the most in history, and he also boasts the second-highest rated round at USDGC (2018, 54/-11, 1089-rated). Fans will be watching to see if he can reassert his dominance at this signature event.
3️⃣ Ricky Wysocki’s Winless Streak in Danger
Ricky Wysocki has not won a Major since 2017, and it seems like this season could break his 14-year streak of winning at least one Major/Elite event annually. Ricky is winless so far this year, with just the USDGC and DGPT Championship left on the stroke play schedule. USDGC has historically been a challenging course for him—he’s competed 13 times without a win but has six podium finishes.
Will Wysocki break through at Winthrop and keep his streak alive, or will the 2025 USDGC mark the first year since 2011 without a Major/Elite victory?
4️⃣ Rising Stars and Career-Best Performances
The USDGC often rewards players on the rise, and 2025 has seen several contenders hitting career highs:
- Anthony Barela achieved his best DGPT points finish ever (6th) and was 2nd at last year’s USDGC.
