DGPT Grows Resources with Key Advisors and New Hires

April 7, 2026: The Disc Golf Pro Tour (DGPT) is pleased to welcome two new executive-level board advisors in support of its strategic growth and planning efforts. Additionally, the Tour is in the process of reviewing applications for several key roles that will shape the remainder of the 2026 season and beyond.

Bringing More Expertise On Board

The DGPT is pleased to announce that Jonathan Poole – the founder and longtime leader of the United States Disc Golf Championship – has come on board in an advisory capacity for the 2026 season and will be working with DGPT leadership and event staff to help strengthen the on-site experience across select Tour stops this season.

Poole (who many know simply as “J.P.”) brings a demonstrated record of leadership, vision, and innovation in professional disc golf event production and hospitality. He has been with Innova Disc Golf since 1997 and has served as event director for more than 30 PDGA Majors. With a history of blending high-level event operations with exciting fan experiences and electric tournament atmospheres, J.P. will focus on helping the Tour evaluate and elevate the details that matter most to athletes, spectators, partners, and host communities.

Poole’s work with the Tour is complementary to his ongoing leadership at the USDGC and Innova Disc Golf, and does not replace his current roles or mark a departure from his ongoing projects and responsibilities. Instead, Jonathan’s advisory role represents an opportunity to share his experience and perspective in support of the continued growth of the DGPT.

“I am grateful for the opportunity to pay forward more than three decades of experience in disc golf,” said Poole. “I care deeply about our athletes, the growth of the game, and providing experiences that create lasting memories for the entire disc golf community.”

“In welcoming J.P. as an advisor, we are excited to deepen our collaboration with one of the most experienced and respected leaders in our industry,” said Jeff Spring, DGPT CEO and Tour Director. “Jonathan has continually pushed the limits of what a premier disc golf event can be, and we’re excited to have his perspective and expertise as we continue to elevate the Tour experience.”

Additionally, the Tour is pleased to announce that Rob Faris, Founder at Greylock Advisors, has also been added to the Tour’s leadership team as a media content and strategy advisor.

With 30 years of experience in the sports and lifestyle media industry and previous tenures at ESPN, Madison Square Garden, NBC Olympics, and AMC Networks, Faris will help guide the Tour’s media strategy and content development trajectory. Rob also served as General Manager of Outside TV Features and Senior Vice President of Programming & Production at Outside Studios where he helped scale a network centered on outdoor and adventure sports while launching and expanding its digital streaming platform.

Rob’s primary focus will be on helping the DGPT reach new fans, improve the viewership experience across multiple platforms, and develop the Tour’s media distribution network.

“After many conversations with Jeff Spring & Dominic DeFebo, it was very apparent that we shared a clear vision for the future of the DGPT as a product and DGN as a content platform,” said Faris. “I am excited to dig in and help lead the merging of the two, while transforming content platforms for rapid growth.”

“Rob’s background and direct experience with some of the most respected names in sports and media make him a great fit for driving the strategic growth of the DGPT, the Disc Golf Network, and the entirety of our media efforts,” continued Spring.“As we continue to invest in the Disc Golf Network and foster a broader media strategy to reach new eyes and new partners, his expertise will help guide our evolution.”

DGPT Team Expands with Three New Roles

In addition to welcoming two new advisors, the DGPT is hiring three new full-time positions.

On the Operations team, the Tour has recently closed applications for the roles of Competition Manager and Event Experience Supervisor. Candidates for both positions are now being reviewed. Once hired, the Competition Manager will lead operational planning for elite-level events, manage DGPT officials, coordinate logistics, and ensure competition standards meet Tour expectations across the entirety of the season. The Event Experience Supervisor will focus on player and spectator hospitality, staff coordination, and volunteer engagement to elevate the on-site experience. Both positions are hybrid, combining remote planning responsibilities with on-site event execution.

The Tour is also accepting applications for the role of Technology Product Director, which will lead the strategy and long-term development of the Tour’s digital ecosystem, with a primary focus on the Disc Golf Network. This remote role will lead product oversight and development planning for the Disc Golf Network as well as the Tour’s scoring, stats, and standings infrastructure across web, mobile, and other connected platforms. The Product Director will play a key role in improving the DGN subscriber experience and building new tools to enhance the ways that fans can engage with the sport online. Applications are currently open with a projected close date of April 24th.
