The Disc Golf Pro Tour returned to the world-renowned Ale Disc Golf Center in Nödinge-Nol, Sweden for the 2026 Ale Open presented by Discraft. Ranked as the No. 1 disc golf course in the world, Ale once again challenged the game’s best with its demanding fairways, technical shot-making, and championship-caliber layout. The iconic venue delivered another memorable weekend filled with dominant victories, breakthrough performances, and dramatic leaderboard battles.

Here are some of our top moments from the weekend…

1) Wysocki Returns to the Winner’s Circle

Ricky Wysocki is back in the winner’s circle. After opening the 2026 season with a victory at the Supreme Flight Open, Wysocki added his second Tour win of the year by capturing the Ale Open, the 32nd Tour victory of his remarkable career. The win also marks his fifth podium finish of the season and extends his current streak to four consecutive top-five finishes, continuing a strong run as he heads to Finland for the Heinola Open before making the trip back to the United States.

The victory carried extra significance after what unfolded one year ago at Ale Disc Golf Center. Wysocki led much of the 2025 event before ultimately being overtaken by Niklas Anttila late in the tournament. This time, the script flipped. Entering Championship Sunday one stroke behind the leaders, Wysocki mounted the charge himself, firing a brilliant 10-under final round that was fueled by another clutch putting performance to secure the title at the world’s No. 1 ranked course.

Wysocki backed up the victory with elite numbers throughout the weekend, leading the MPO field in birdie percentage at 59% while also topping the field in C2 putting by converting 8 of 16 attempts for an impressive 50%. Although Gannon Buhr remains comfortably in first place, the win allows Wysocki to strengthen his hold on second in the DGPT Powerball World Standings and carry plenty of momentum into the back half of the season.

2) Eveliina Salonen Conquers the World’s No. 1 Course

Eveliina Salonen continued her remarkable summer stretch by capturing the 2026 Ale Open, earning her third Tour victory of the season and the 12th of her career. The win also extends her current run to three consecutive podium finishes, following her PDGA European Open Major victory and last week’s runner-up finish at the Swedish Open, where she pushed Silva Saarinen to a dramatic four-hole playoff. Making her first appearance at Ale Disc Golf Center, the world’s No. 1 ranked course and the future home of the 2027 European Open, Salonen delivered a performance worthy of the venue, cruising to a commanding 15-stroke victory at 30-under par.

Salonen controlled the tournament from start to finish, opening with a 9-under round before following it up with the hot round of Round 2 at 11-under and closing with the best final round in the field at 10-under. Her statistical performance was equally impressive, leading the FPO field in birdie percentage at 59%, fairway hit percentage at 92%, strokes gained from tee to green at 27.54, C1 in regulation at 65%, and C2 in regulation at 83%. She was also the only player in the field to finish with two or fewer bogeys and joined Catrina Allen as one of just two competitors to card a single out-of-bounds stroke all weekend.

The victory keeps Salonen in sixth place in the DGPT Powerball World Standings as she continues to chip away at the players ahead of her. With the European Elite Series swing now complete, she will take a well-earned week off before returning to the United States, where she will look to defend her title at the PDGA Pro Major U.S. Women’s Disc Golf Championship in Salt Lake City.

3) Heimburg and Redalen Stay in the Hunt

While Ricky Wysocki ultimately lifted the trophy, both Calvin Heimburg and Cole Redalen gave themselves every opportunity to do the same, each finishing tied for second after strong performances throughout the weekend. Although neither could quite close the deal, both left Sweden with valuable Tour points and plenty of momentum as the season heads toward its second half.

For Heimburg, the runner-up finish marks his second consecutive second-place result after narrowly missing out on the Swedish Open title the week before. He now owns four podium finishes in 2026, including his victory at the OTB Open, and continues to prove that consistency is one of his greatest strengths. Sitting third in the DGPT Powerball World Standings and within striking distance of Ricky Wysocki in second, Heimburg has positioned himself as one of the Tour’s most reliable contenders. If he continues this level of play, another victory feels like a matter of when, not if. His next opportunity comes at the Heinola Open in Finland.

Redalen’s week was equally encouraging. The runner-up finish gives him his second podium and second top-10 of the season, joining his victory at the Kansas City Wide Open. Entering the final round tied with Isaac Robinson for the lead, Redalen traded punches with Wysocki throughout Championship Sunday before a costly bogey on Hole 16 proved to be the difference. Even so, the performance represents another important step forward after an up-and-down season that included some missed cashes. For a player who already owns three Tour victories in his young career, this finish provides another confidence boost as he looks to build momentum heading into the remainder of the season.

4) A Career-Best Round for Holyn Handley

Holyn Handley capped off a successful European swing with another impressive performance, finishing runner-up at the Ale Open for her eighth Tour podium of the 2026 season. Through just 12 Tour events, Handley has now collected eight podium finishes, including two victories, continuing one of the most consistent campaigns on Tour. Although Eveliina Salonen proved untouchable by week’s end, Handley once again showed why she remains atop the DGPT Powerball World Standings.

Her tournament was fueled by a spectacular opening round, where she fired a scorching 12-under to claim the hot round of the weekend. Rated 1046, it officially stands as the highest-rated round of Handley’s career. She carded birdies on 12 of the 18 holes for a remarkable 67% birdie rate while also posting a perfect 100% scramble rate, repeatedly turning difficult positions into scoring opportunities and setting the tone for another podium finish.

The runner-up result allows Handley to maintain her lead in the DGPT Powerball World Standings, where she now holds a 250-point advantage over second place. With the European Elite Series swing complete, she returns to the United States for a week of preparation before the U.S. Women’s Disc Golf Championship, where the current points leader will look to add the one accomplishment still missing from her outstanding career: her first PDGA Pro Major title.

5) More Players to Watch After Ale

Several other players added impressive performances to their 2026 campaigns as the European swing came to a close. In FPO, Sweden’s Julia Fors continued her breakout season by tying for second, giving the young star her second Tour podium in just her last three events after earning her first at the European Open. Eliezra Midtlyng also continued her strong play with a tie for fourth, her second top-five Tour finish of the season, while leading the field in parked percentage at 24%. Missy Gannon rounded out the top five in a tie for fourth and extended her perfect top-10 streak in 2026. For the second consecutive Tour event, she led the field in C1 putting at 93%, proving once again that she remains one of the Tour’s most reliable players inside the circle.

The MPO field featured plenty of noteworthy performances behind Ricky Wysocki’s victory. Silas Schultz matched the best Tour finish of his career with a fourth-place result, his highest since the 2023 Champions Cup, after opening the tournament with the hot round of the weekend at 12-under. That round featured perfect C1 putting and an impressive 39% parked percentage, helping him tie Wysocki for the tournament lead in birdie percentage at 59%. Isaac Robinson added his fifth top-five finish of the season with a tie for fifth after entering the final round tied for the lead. Anthony Barela also finished tied for fifth and led the field in C2 putting, powered by a bogey-free, 11-under moving-day round that vaulted him up 10 spots and onto the lead card for Championship Sunday. Meanwhile, Eagle McMahon followed up his comeback victory with another top-10 finish, tying world No. 1 Gannon Buhr, whose finish marked his lowest Tour result of the season, a rare reminder that even the game’s most dominant player is not immune to a challenging week.

Editor’s Note: Tour events include DGPT Elite Series, DGPT+, DGPT Playoff, and PDGA Pro Major events.
