The Disc Golf Pro Tour is proud to announce an expanded partnership with ZÜCA and Throw Pink for Breast Cancer Awareness month and the 2019 season. Last year, ZÜCA and the Disc Golf Pro Tour partnered to raise over $4,000 for the Breast Cancer Research Foundation at the Disc Golf Pro Tour Championship. This year, ZÜCA and the Disc Golf Pro Tour have included Throw Pink in an effort to raise additional money to support local Throw Pink initiatives and will continue this partnership through the 2019 season.
Starting with the Disc Golf Pro Tour Championship in Jacksonville, Florida October 18-21st the Disc Golf Pro Tour will be auctioning off one ZÜCA Throw Pink Disc Golf Cart per event through the end of the 2019 season. This will result in a total of 12 carts raffled. The Throw Pink Disc Golf Carts feature a pink frame, an Anaconda patterned bag, and a pink putter pouch.
Sarah Nicholson, Throw Pink Founder had the following to say: “DGPT’s support for the pro women in our game is outstanding and this program with ZUCA fully aligns with Throw Pink’s mission. It’s a great extension of the partnership with ZUCA that we announced earlier this month and will help us raise even more money for Throw Pink events.”
Two weeks prior to each Pro Tour stop five tickets will become available for $100 each. A winner will be chosen at the awards of each event (you do not have to be present to win). The winner will receive a signed thank you card and the Throw Pink Anaconda ZÜCA Cart. Thank you cards signed by the final lead cards of the MPO and FPO divisions will be sent to raffle participants to commemorate their support.
Disc Golf Pro Tour Director Steve Dodge said, “The Disc Golf Pro Tour is proud to continue to expand its support of women’s disc golf. We are especially excited to be able to support local charities at each stop in 2019.”
The $500 raised at each event will be given to a local charity chosen by the local Throw Pink volunteers at the event. With 12 total events raising $500 each, ZÜCA, DGPT, and Throw Pink expect to raise $6,000 for Throw Pink charities.
Jen Apy ZÜCA’s head of marketing concluded by saying: “ZUCA loves finding new and innovative ways to support disc golf and women. This year-long program working with DGPT and Throw Pink is a win-win for all!”
