The famed course at Brazos East, colloquially known as the bEast, is back for the 2020 Waco Annual Charity Open, but with some minor modifications. Last year, there were two par 5’s on the bEast; this year, those holes will play as Par 4’s. The signature shot at Brazos East, a big throw over a lake coming off the the river, has also been adjusted, from a par 4 last year, to a par 3 this year. There have also been some pin location changes, in an attempt to help the holes play closer to par.
The bEast now plays as a par 64, down from a par 67. Although this means we’re less likely to see fireworks like Paul McBeth’s -18 performance from last year, the reduced par also means we’ll see more competitive scoring. Last year on the final day in MPO, 21 players shot double-digits under par.
