Paul McBeth won the Tour points championship, by a lot. He had two things putting wind in his sales this season. First, he had three wins on tour and played very good golf all season. Second, he played every Pro Tour event and took full advantage of his two available drops.
With Paul's average points per event (77.5) being a small amount higher than Ricky Wysocki's (70.4), had Ricky attended all 9 of the events, it would have been a very close battle and that final round at Maple Hill during the MVP Open would have had even more meaning than determining the champion of the tournament.
As it was, Paul McBeth had wrapped up the Tour Points Championship before the MVP Open even started. He would close out the season with over 100 points more than his closest competitor, which was Ricky. His average points per event was the highest we have seen ever (in the first three years) and when we think about the parity of Disc Golf in the open division, this was in fact a dominant season by Paul McBeth.
Best of luck to all of the competitors at Pro Worlds, the USDGC, the NT Finale (HoF) and the Tour Championship. Heading into this run of Premier Events, Paul McBeth has one more notch in his belt: 2018 Tour Points Champion.
