The 2016 Vibram Open, and with it the official start of the Pro Tour, is less than one week away and approaching fast. To ensure that fans around the world have access to the drama, storylines, and excitement that will undoubtedly unfold, Tour Director Steve Dodge has brought together an experienced media team to cover his inaugural event.
“We plan on bringing the best disc golf coverage to help spectators engage and enjoy the compelling story that will undoubtedly unfold”, Dodge says. Accomplishing this task will require a coordinated effort to be successful, and so far the call has been answered by our very capable production team. The coveted jewel of the ravenous disc golf fan base, 4 days of live video coverage, will be executed by SmashboxxTV. In addition to the Pro Tour’s use of multiple commentators and the integration of live statistics and scoring via UDisc, Dodge wants to add yet another asset.
“Terry Miller, Jon Van Duerzen, Joe Hite and the Smashboxx crew have built their service into the premier live video production house for disc golf. To bolster the production even more, we are very proud to announce that Jamie Thomas will be joining the Pro Tour team as a statistical analyst.”, Dodge announced today.
All Pro Tour coverage will be available on our YouTube page.
Thomas, who has been, and continues to be, with SpinTV since its inception in 2012, has executed a variety of roles both behind and in front of the camera. “Excited doesn’t begin to describe it,” Thomas beams, “I’m thrilled overall to see that media has become a priority in our sport, and to have this opportunity to build a relationship with Steve and the Pro Tour, as well as to work with the Smashboxx crew again – it’s fantastic. I’m just looking forward to game day and doing my part to help make this the best broadcast possible.”
Dodge finished the announcement with the one word that Jamie and team will be hoping everyone heeds, “Watch!”
