Sai Ananda and Calvin Heimburg are your 2023 Innova Open at Texas States champions! Despite the rainy conditions on Sunday in Houston, Texas, the players persevered and conquered Brock Park in a thrilling display of competition, marking the final tour stop in Texas.

Sai Ananda: A New Star is Born
The lead card of the FPO division showcased exceptional throws and genuine sportsmanship. After a gripping two-stroke competition among Ananda, Scoggins, and Tattar, Sai Ananda emerged victorious, securing her FIRST-ever DGPT win! Under immense pressure, Ananda demonstrated remarkable composure, maintaining her lead throughout the final round at the 2023 Innova Open at Texas States, finishing with an impressive three-stroke advantage.
Despite the intense competition, the players displayed unwavering respect and support for one another throughout the entire round.

Seeking redemption from her performance at The Open at Austin, Tattar fought hard to secure a second-place finish returning to the podium at 7-under par, just one stroke under the hot round of the day (8-under) held by Keiti Tätte, who ended up caddying for her friend Tattar right after her final round. Scoggins closely followed in third place, exhibiting her usual exceptional putting skills, while Handley put her distance on display throughout the round securing fourth place.
Ananda was solid across the board, finishing first in birdie percentage, first in strokes gained in C2 putting, and a 100% scramble rate, according to UDisc.

Heimburg Secures Second Victory of the Season
The stage was set for an intense battle until the final round on Championship Sunday, with several players vying for the coveted victory.
Calvin Heimburg secured another accolade to add to his impressive resume, clinching a DGPT Silver Event title. Similar to Sai Ananda, Heimburg held on to his lead throughout the tournament, culminating in a remarkable six-stroke lead at the finish. This is Calvin’s first Silver Event win of the 2023 season (and his 2nd career win at a Silver event) to go along with his Las Vegas Challenge DGPT Elite Event title.
Heimburg’s unwavering determination was on full display as he sealed his victory with an impressive score of 33-under, finishing first in birdie percentage, second in fairway hits, and second in strokes gained in C2 putting, according to UDisc.

Antony Barela and Joel Freeman made things interesting coming down the stretch in the final round tying for second with total scores of 27-under par. James Proctor battled from the chase card, attaining solo fourth place along with second in birdie percentage, second in C2 putting, and first in strokes gained from tee-to-green at 14.51%, just ahead of Heimburg at 14.05%, according to UDisc.
Alden Harris had the hot round of the day shooting 12-under along with second in parked drives percentage.
The Disc Golf Pro Tour resumes on April 7-9 at the Music City Open in Nashville, Tennessee.
