Day Two of Discraft’s Green Mountain Championship saw some interesting action out on the Brewster Ridge course. At one point there was a three way tie for
first between players spread across the lead and chase card.
On the chase card Jessica Weese made a push for the lead card and ultimately ended up tied for fourth on the day. She was three down on the front nine, bogey free. Then on the back nine she took three bogeys to cancel out her under par day. We could expect her to make a push for the lead card tomorrow over on Fox Run.
On the lead card today there was quite a bit of action between all four players. On the front nine Catrina Allen began making her push for first place being the only player on the lead card to finish under par on the front today. On the opposite end of the spectrum Sarah Hokom was four over on the front nine today and on her way off of the lead card until we moved over to the back nine.
On the back nine things really began to shake-up. After finishing the front nine one over par, Paige Pierce carded a triple bogey seven on hole eleven. This was enough to bring about our three way tie for one hole between Paige, Catrina, and Jessica Weese. After Paige’s uncharacteristic seven, where she airballed two putts in a row from inside the circle she took a birdie two on twelve. Sarah matched. Then on hole thirteen Sarah carded the birdie three and Paige carded a bogey five. That two stroke swing was enough for Sarah Hokom to carry the lead through the end of the round today.
The ladies will move over to Fox Run tomorrow where yesterday Sarah and Paige were able to pull away from the field . If you want to catch up with today’s action you can follow along on the live coverage starting at 2:30pm ET at https://dgpt.com/watch/live
