DGPT Match Play Championship

The Disc Golf Pro Tour is thrilled to be bringing a straight Match Play event to the DGPT!

EVENT OVERVIEW:

The event will take place at the historic Steel Club in Hellertown, PA September 17-19th. The top 16 MPO and top 8 FPO players in Tour Standings as of Idlewild have been invited to play the event. If a player is unable to attend, their invitation will be offered to the next player in Tour Standings. The field will be finalized by September 1st and the matches will be made official.

The competition will take place on a special 12-Hole layout co-designed by Tournament Director Steve Braud, US Champion Steve Brinster, and Discmania Professional Simon Lizotte. The format will be straight match play. For more details on the format, check out this handy guide from the USGA.

SCHEDULE:
During all 3 match days, there will be morning and afternoon sessions. We will put out 2 cards at a time in the morning (10:00 AM and 10:30 AM) and 2 cards in the afternoon (3:00 PM & 3:30 PM)
  • THURSDAY: Exhibition Day!
    • There will be spectators, skins matches, vending opportunities, and contests. General Admission tickets will be available for Thursday.
  • FRIDAY: Men’s Sweet 16
  • SATURDAY: Women’s & Men’s Elite 8
  • SUNDAY: Women’s & Men’s Final 4 & Championship

MEDIA:
All cards will be featured live on the Disc Golf Network with two broadcasts a day. We are working with post-production teams on additional coverage that will be announced soon.

SPECTATORS:
Spectator tickets are available for purchase now! There are two types of ticket options both of which can be purchased at the daily level or for the entire weekend:
Option 1: General Admission – General Admission (GA) tickets offer spectators access to select areas of the course including access to the flymart and space round hole one.
Option 2: VIP Pass – VIP Passes give spectators access to roped off areas at some primary greens as well as the pool area and an outdoor bar and tables. A VIP Pass provides spectators with the highest level of access at the event.
**Thursday is General Admission only as it will feature field events, side games, and a flymart. Spectators who purchase a 3-Day VIP Pass will get GA access on Thursday for free or a ticket can be purchased separately or as part of the 4-Day GA Pass.
