Danielle Charlier is officially joining the DGPT as our Business Development & Marketing Director, continuing our quest to build the best Player-Centric Tour for Professional Disc Golf
Athletes possible. She will also fill the roles of Players’ Advocate and Women’s Disc Golf Ambassador.
She brings to our team the expertise and lessons she’s learned from years of experience in consulting, business development, sales, service, marketing, photography, video, and design, along with her passion for disc golf.
Her efforts will be directed at growing awareness of the sport in general and helping to make the DGPT a powerful platform for an increasing number of men and women to showcase their skills, gaining the recognition they deserve, so they can earn a living and thrive on Tour.
We first met Danielle in August, of 2017 when, after only a few months of playing disc golf, and wolfing down every online video she could get her hands on, she had to come see it in person. After volunteering for a local tournament, she drove from Asheville, North Carolina to Peoria, Illinois to volunteer for the Ledgestone Insurance Open.
At this tournament, Danielle quickly stepped up to do the UDisc Live Scoring for each lead card FPO round, as well as, the MPO cards on Smashboxx TV. Her enthusiasm and hard work throughout the entire tournament, always extending an extra hand with anything needed, led us to present her with the DGPT Spirit Award that week.
In February of 2018, she contacted us again, asking if we could use her help at the Memorial Championship in Scottsdale, Arizona. This time, her responsibilities and insights increased and we joked about needing to find a way to have her at every DGPT Tour Stop.
“As I got to know Steve, Seth, Terry, and the rest of the DGPT Team, I felt a natural alignment with our visions and goals.” Danielle Charlier explained. “In Waco, we started discussing ways we could make this partnership happen.”
Steve Dodge added, “After seeing the immediate success of a few of Danielle’s ideas we put into place, I realized the tour, and disc golf in general, would be much improved with her on our team.”
In addition to growing the Disc Golf Pro Tour as a whole, Danielle will also be the Women’s Disc Golf Ambassador. We felt it was important to have a woman’s voice added to our team. She’ll be focusing on finding increased ways to grow coverage of the FPO division, both through increased sponsorship and through unique filming initiatives. You can see a few of those initiatives at work through the FPO Highlight Videos we’ve been releasing leading up to the San Francisco Open, Volunteer-Assisted Video Highlights of every single FPO card at SFO (Go here to learn more and help!), and a third initiative that will be announced in the coming days.
We are excited to have Danielle on the Pro Tour team and we look forward to the positive influence she will have not only with the Pro Tour but with the sport as a whole.
