  • Catrina Allen – Tour Champion

300 of each bobble will be made, making a total of 1200 bobbles. One complete set will be available to each event as well as five randomly selected single bobbles. These bobbles must be ordered during registration and can only be ordered through the Next Generation Disc Golf Tour.

Points Champions

ricky (1)

Ricky Wysocki won three of the five inaugural Pro Tour events, running away with the Tour Points Championship. After being eliminated in the Semifinals, there was a small outcry from the fans that wanted to see him in the Finals. The decision was made to not change the Semifinals to Finals format but instead to create a financial reward for finishing first in Tour Points. Ricky led the tour in Eagles (5) and was in the top 10 in most of the stats we collected. Overall, it was a dominant season for the #1 Ranked player in the world.

sarah

Sarah Hokom, the #3 Ranked player in the world, had a great 2016 season. She secured two victories and three third place finishes on the tour, beating out Catrina Allen’s two victories and two seconds. She was able to hold off Catrina with fate seeming to play a role. First, Catrina missed the Silver Cup. If she had finished in the top 10, Catrina would have earned enough points to overtake Sarah. Second, a ruling penalty at The Majestic cost Catrina a chance at a playoff with Sarah for first. As it turns out, whichever player won The Majestic would have had enough points to win the Tour Points. Kudos to Sarah Hokom for putting herself in position to succeed and being our 2016 Tour Points Champion.

Tour Champions

catrina

paul

After surviving a serious threat in the Semifinals, Paul McBeth would shoot a new course record in the DGPT Tour Championship Finals, besting Nikko Locastro by two shots. On the ladies side, Catrina Allen won the Semifinals and the Finals in convincing fashion, claiming the first Tour Championship.

Registration begins tonight at 9:00 EST on DiscGolfScene. Register and claim your bobble head while supplies last!

Not sure I understand why you show no love for the Masters Champion Johne McCray. He can play both, Masters and Open and is the true class act representative for disc golf. Shows true sportsmanship. He’s a leader, an inspiration. He deserves to have a bobble head made after all the years he’s given. Shame on you folks for not showing respect.

Hi Craig, We made bobbles for the tour and points champions. I love and respect Johne. He is, and has been for a long time, a great ambassador for our sport. As have many others. I hope you can soften the term “shame on” us, since this is simply a recognition of players that won on the Pro Tour. :-)

Craig – they only refer to the DGPT, which only has two divisions. I couldn’t find a complete list but JohnE didn’t make top ten.

He won worlds as did Val Jenkins, who also isn’t represented.

So you can only buy the bobbles if you register for an event?

Yes. And you can register for a Next Gen event at Disc Golf Scene.

It’s a cool idea. But only offering it to amateurs who sign up for TNGT is weird. It will drive up the resale price immensely. For collecting purposes I would love a set. The way they are being released I refuse to pay 2-3 times their value.

Although when you consider that the bobbles are a collaboration with the Next Gen tour, it makes sense that they would be only available thru Next Gen events. Having said that, I understand your point.
