Everyone knew that Josh Anthon would eventually garner a big victory to cement his comeback and he has put himself in a position to do so through the first two days at the Ledgestone Insurance Open presented by Discraft. After taking a two stoke lead into Friday, Anthon shot a 5-under par, 58 to extend his lead to four.
Anthon, who shot 12-under on Friday, had an up and down front nine, shooting an even par front after carding three birdies to match a bogey on hole four and a double bogey on hole five. After a sluggish start, Anthon turned it on in the back half birding holes 11-13 before finishing out his round with three more birdies and one bogey. Josh was accurate off the tee, hitting 84% of fairways and was able to capitalize inside circle one, hitting 95% of his circle one putts.
A few strokes behind Anthon sits Ricky Wysocki who put together quite the putting performance on Friday. Ricky hit 100% of his circle one putts and 60% of his circle two putts, including huge putts on hole one, three, and four, en route to a 4-under par, 59 to move him into second place. Paul Ulibarri, who began the day in second, moved down a slot behind Wysocki after his 2-under par performance. Ulibarri is followed by Paul McBeth and Greg Barsby who sit at 11-under for the event after shooting 5-under and 3-under respectively.
The hot round of the day belonged to Collin Bailey who used his 6-under par performance to rocket eight spots up the leaderboard to fifth place. Other big movers on the day included Bobby Musick (-4) who jumped 12 spots to sixth, KJ Nybo (-3) who improved 11 spots to seventh and Cale Leviska who shot from 27th to a tie for 10th.
