There were two aces on the Fountain Hills course today. Brock Shepherd aced
hole 3 and Mike Sale on hole 17. It was an exciting day for those guys and hopefully we will see a few more aces out at Vista Del Camino tomorrow for the final round.
In the MPO division Mike Conlee started the round seven down through eight. The real story though was Simon Lizotte’s fourteen birdies to give himself the lead by two strokes.
In the FPO division Paige Pierce expanded her lead carding eight birdies, including going -5 for 5 to close out the day. In a moving day push, Lisa Fajkus carded six birdies and one bogey to land on the lead card for the final round of The Memorial Championship presented by Discraft.
The par story today in the MPO division happened on hole nine with the lead card. Nikko, Eagle, and Simon all three laid up their putts in order to ensure they carded the par. The peninsula green makes for a tough par three and all three played it smart after watching Paul McBeth go OB on his drive.
Over in the FPO division Ellen Widboom parred the entire front nine out at Fountain Hills today to keep her in the top 10 going into round four.
Nikko Locastro was setup to have a shot at the lead card on hole eighteen today, but turned a birdie putt into a six. When he putted for his birdie the putt bounced off the basket and rolled OB. Then he missed the next putt and ultimately ended up with a six which has him on the chase card going into the final round of The 2018 Memorial Championship presented by Discraft.
In the FPO division Sarah Hokom struggled today at times, landing four bogeys and one double bogey to drop her off the lead card going into the final round. Sarah will be looking to attack from the chase card tomorrow to increase her Memorial Championship payout.
Make sure you are ready to catch all of the action of the final round of The Memorial Championship presented by Discraft starting at 4pm ET tomorrow.
