Our disc golf vision - Touring pros, pro tours, spectators, corporate partners, and amazing disc golf venues all held together with our common disc culture
It is important to remember why we are doing this. We want to spread the greatest game on earth to everyone. We want to nourish society with disc culture. We want to celebrate the greatest disc golfers on the planet. This is a three part series on why and how we envision disc golf’s future.
The greatest game
From the moment we hit our first 30 foot shot, or throw our first dead straight drive, or watch a disc S through the woods, disc golf has us. We want to do that again. And again. Watching a disc fly 300 feet and come to rest within feet of the basket is inspiring and rejuvenating – especially when we threw it! As our discs fly through the woods or hyzer to take a dog leg, they bring us genuine joy. This is the purpose of recreation. This is why we play and this is why we will play again. It is attainable while being challenging.
Additionally, getting outside, enjoying time with our family and friends, and cheering for every great shot is great for our soul. These are the things that recharge us to be a positive impact on society. The game itself is amazing, rejuvenating and inspiring. Whether we are playing alone improving ourselves in the world or with others enjoying a community, disc golf consistently brings us to a better place. We need to share it with the world.
Lastly, our society needs disc golf. As technology becomes a larger part of our lives, we are becoming more sedentary and isolated. Additionally, the earth could use a little rejuvenation as well and, relative to many other activities, disc golf has a low impact on the earth. Let’s utilize disc golf to encourage people to become more active while becoming more social. Let’s bring them an attainable, lifetime activity that has culture, community and positive challenges baked in from the start.
