The 2025 MVP Open x OTB returns to Maple Hill, one of disc golf’s most iconic venues. Now in its 4th year as a DGPT Playoff Event, it offers players a final chance to qualify for the DGPT Championship while battling for 250 valuable World Standings points. This year, the top 4 MVP Open finishers outside the top 28 in Tour Points also earn a shot at the DGPT Championship.
Fans can expect elite-level competition alongside unique experiences like glow-in-the-dark rounds, a $20k ace run giveaway, and more, with the weekend culminating in an awards ceremony honoring the top MPO and FPO performers. High stakes and a world-class course make the MVP Open a showcase of professional disc golf.

FPO LOOKAHEAD
- FPO1 Feature Card: Missy Gannon, Ohn Scoggins, Silva Saarinen, & Holyn Handley
- FPO2 Feature Card: Ella Hansen, Cadence Burge, Paige Pierce, & Kat Mertsch
Here’s a look at the top storylines headed into this weekend:
1️⃣ Holyn Handley Chasing World Standings Supremacy
Holyn Handley enters Maple Hill leading the DGPT World Standings by 109.50 points over Ohn Scoggins, looking to reclaim the top spot after last year’s heartbreak. At the 2024 MVP Open, Handley started the event atop the standings but ultimately lost to Missy Gannon. Here’s how this weekend could play out…
- If Ohn Scoggins wins the MVP Open, Handley would secure 1st place in the DGPT World Standings by finishing 7th or better.
- If Missy Gannon defends her title and wins the MVP Open, Handley would lock in 1st place by finishing 10th or better.
Handley has never finished outside the Top 10 at Maple Hill, and her -8 (52) round in 2024 tied the course record. With four wins this season, Handley is in peak form and will be eyeing the points—and the playoff momentum—that could secure her a season-ending championship.
2️⃣ Ohn Scoggins Seeking Consistency
Ohn Scoggins has been a model of consistency at Maple Hill, never finishing outside the Top 10 in four starts (best finish: 2nd in 2023). She comes into MVP with four wins this season, tied with Handley for most in the FPO division.
Scoggins is positioned to close the gap in the World Standings, and a win at Maple Hill would further cement her as a dominant force in 2025. Expect her to push Handley every step of the way in a battle that could define the season.
3️⃣ Missy Gannon’s Quest for Back-to-Back MVP Open Success
Missy Gannon is the defending champion at Maple Hill and the all-time leader in M/ES cash earnings. Her win in 2024 came with a $10,000 payday, the largest at a standard stroke-play event in her career.
Gannon’s record at Maple Hill is impressive: seven starts, four Top 10s, and a peak round rating of 53. While she hasn’t won multiple events in 2025, her experience and playoff poise make her a constant threat to repeat.
4️⃣ Paige Pierce Chasing Another Milestone
Paige Pierce, a six-time MVP Open winner, enters 2025 having earned her all-time high payout at GMC ($10,000). Pierce is climbing the standings and currently sits sixth in the DGPT World Standings, her best shot in years to contend for the Tour Championship.
While Pierce has struggled in recent MVP Opens compared to her early dominance, she has the experience and firepower to contend for another Maple Hill title—and perhaps cement her legacy further in the FPO division.
5️⃣ Bubble Players Fighting for Tour Championship Berths
The MVP Open is critical for players on the cusp of the Tour Championship. Players like Sintija Klezberga, Hanna Manis, Chandler Reigh, and Erika Stinchcomb, who earned spots at GMC, now have a chance to fight their way into the top 19 and secure a berth at the season-ending event.
Meanwhile, players like Cadence Burge, Emily Weatherman, and Madison Walker are looking to protect their positions. Maple Hill’s tight, technical layout ensures that every stroke could decide who advances and who goes home.
MPO LOOKAHEAD
- MPO1 Feature Card: Isaac Robinson, Calvin Heimburg, Gannon Buhr, & Paul McBeth
- MPO2 Feature Card: Ricky Wysocki, Anthony Barela, Kyle Klein, & Niklas Anttila
Here’s a look at the top storylines headed into this weekend:
1️⃣ Gannon Buhr Aiming to Cement a Historic Season
Gannon Buhr has already clinched the #1 spot in the DGPT World Standings for the second year in a row and is on track to set the highest-rated season of all time. With six wins in 18 starts so far, Buhr is one of only three players ever to record multiple 6+ win seasons.
Buhr has podiumed twice in three MVP Open starts and is aiming to continue his dominance in 2025. Maple Hill could be the stage where he solidifies one of the most impressive seasons in disc golf history.
2️⃣ Paul McBeth Back in Form
Paul McBeth is enjoying a resurgence, with two Major/Elite wins in 2025. This year marks his 13th season with multiple Major/Elite wins, the most all-time in the MPO division (Pierce has 15 in FPO).
McBeth has three MVP Open wins (2013, 2019, 2020) and holds the historic course record of -14 (45, par 59) from 2013, along with the second-highest rated round ever (1121). He enters Maple Hill poised to chase both wins and a top DGPT points finish, proving he’s still a force to be reckoned with.
3️⃣ Will Ricky Wysocki Extend His Win Streak?
Ricky Wysocki’s 14-year streak of winning at least one Major/Elite event is in jeopardy in 2025. Despite multiple runner-up finishes, Wysocki remains winless this season.
Maple Hill has a strong track record for him, with MVP Open victories in 2015 and 2017, and 14 consecutive Top 10 finishes at the event. Will Wysocki continue his streak or see it come to an end? Maple Hill could be the deciding course.
4️⃣ Rising and Returning Contenders
The MVP Open also presents opportunities for players climbing the DGPT World Standings or making a comeback.
- Calvin Heimburg has finished in the Top 5 in four of eight MVP Open starts and is coming off a Major/Elite win in 2025.
- Anthony Barela, though winless this year, has improved consistency, averaging a 12.3 finish in 2025 Majors.
- Isaac Robinson seeks a top-5 DGPT finish for the third consecutive year, while Kyle Klein looks to break through for his first MVP Open victory.
Expect Maple Hill to highlight both established stars and up-and-coming threats.
5️⃣ Bubble Players Eyeing Tour Championship Spots
For players outside the top DGPT World Standings cut, the MVP Open is critical. Finishing in the top 4 outside of already-qualified players can earn a berth at the season-ending Tour Championship.
Players like James Proctor (63rd), Matthew Orum (32nd), and Joseph Anderson (31st) are among those with their championship hopes riding on Maple Hill. The event could produce surprise qualifiers and shake up the final standings.
All the action starts on Thursday, September 25th! Tune in to the Disc Golf Network and catch post-pro coverage from JomezPro all weekend.
