Paige Pierce: A Milestone in the Making

  • Historic Earnings: Paige Pierce is on the cusp of making history by becoming the first woman to surpass $400,000 in PDGA career earnings. She is currently at $399,690.64, and cashing at the Preserve will push her over this milestone, making her the 8th player in any division to achieve this feat. With four starts at the Preserve, she boasts two wins, three podium finishes, and four top-10 finishes. Her 1009-rated win in 2020 is the fifth-highest event rating of her career.

Holyn Handley: On a Hot Streak

  • Recent Victory: Handley is riding high after her first Elite Series victory at the Beaver State Fling, where she secured the win in a playoff. With seven Major/Elite Series podiums this season, she leads all FPO competitors in this category and has finished 4th, 3rd, 2nd, and 1st in her last four events. Her recent successes have propelled her to the top spot in the DGPT standings. Another strong performance at the Preserve could solidify her lead.

Ohn Scoggins: A Champion Returns

  • World Champion: Scoggins returns to the FPO tour after winning her fourth straight FP40 world title by a record 25 strokes. She has been a model of consistency with 14 straight Major/Elite Series top-10 finishes since the 2023 Worlds. A head-to-head victory over Handley could see Scoggins retake the lead in the DGPT standings, pending Missy Gannon’s performance.

Missy Gannon: Steady and Strong

  • Top Performer: Gannon has been a consistent top performer, with five straight top-10 finishes at Major/Elite Series events, the third most among FPO players. She has an impressive record at the Preserve, with four starts, two podiums, three top-5 finishes, and four top-10 finishes.

Catrina Allen: Consistency and Championship Pedigree at the Preserve

  • Proven Competitor: In four starts at the Preserve, Allen has one win, two podiums, and four top-5 finishes, making her a formidable competitor.

MPO2 Feature Card: Corey Ellis, Gavin Rathburn, Cole Redalen, Casey White

Who Can Stop Gannon Buhr?

  • On Fire: Gannon Buhr is in incredible form, securing back-to-back Elite Series victories at the Portland Open and the Beaver State Fling. Just a bit more than halfway through this season, Buhr has already matched his career highs for wins (3) and podiums (5) in a season. Buhr consistently performs at the highest level, averaging a top 5 finish in Major and Elite Series events and only missing the top 10 once this season.

Ricky Wysocki: Defending Champion

  • Looking for Victory: Ricky Wysocki, the defending Preserve champion, aims for his first Major or Elite Series victory of the 2024 season. He has finished on the podium in his last two events and has five podium finishes this season, tied for the most with Buhr and Anttila. Wysocki has an impressive history at the Preserve, finishing 1st in 2023 and 2021 and 2nd in 2022. He also set the recent layout course record with a 52 (-15) in the first round of 2023.

Simon Lizotte: Return to the Tour

  • Back in Action: Simon Lizotte returns to the tour for the first time since winning the Music City Open. He has two podium finishes at the Preserve, making him a player to watch.

Paul McBeth: Breaking the Drought

  • Longest Win Drought: Paul McBeth is currently experiencing the longest win drought of his career, with Sunday marking 344 days since his last Major or Elite Series victory. His previous longest drought was 315 days between the 2022 Worlds and the 2023 PCS. McBeth finished 9th in 2022 and 3rd in 2021 at the Preserve and will be looking to end his drought with a strong performance.

Anthony Barela: Seeking Consistency

  • Up and Down Season: Anthony Barela has struggled with consistency after winning at Jonesboro, missing the top 10 in his last four Major/Elite Series events. His season average finish is 15th, the second lowest of any player with three or more wins in a Major/Elite Series season. Barela has finished in the top 10 three times at the Preserve Championship, can he do so again this year?
