TYPES OF CREDENTIAL HOLDERS & AFFILIATED ENTITIES

The DGPT categorizes all Credential Holders and their Affiliated Entiities by the following categories.

Affiliated Entity means the organization, company, or proprietorship for which the Credential Holder is developing media content.

  • Media Outlet means an organization primarily focused on journalistic endeavors, including but not limited to organizations primarily engaged in the business of producing disc golf media content, whether written, pictorial or audio/visual.
  • Tour Partner means an organization, other than those who qualify as a Media Outlet under that definition, which have entered into an agreement with the tour in which the organization has purchased an advertising or promotional package from the Tour or who is engaged primarily in the business of selling goods and services to the viewers of DGPT Events.
  • Credentialed Commercial Entity means an organization, other than those who qualify as a Media Outlet and Tour Partners under those definitions, primarily focused on the promotion of a player, multiple players, partnership, event, brand, or tour primarily with advertising of a good or service. This includes but is not limited to sponsors such as disc manufacturers, player management groups, equipment producers, apparel producers, commemorative item producers, trophy producers, and retailers of any kind.
  • Third Party Content Creator means a person or organization, other than those who qualify as a Media Outlet, Tour Partner, or Credential Commercial Entity, under those definitions, who owns a media account (blog, YouTube channel, or similar) either personal or for a small business, who develops content related to disc golf, but not at the journalistic or professional level akin to a Media Outlet.

TYPES OF MEDIA DISPLAY

The DGPT Media Policy recognizes two kinds of media displays. When you’re submitted your credential request, you will need to let us know what your planned display is.

  • A Non-Commercial Display is a display primarily made for an editorial purpose, for the purpose of promotion of the sport as a whole, or of a player, multiple players, partnership, charity, event, or tour, pictured or described, and not primarily for the purpose of advertising for the sale of a good or service.
  • A Commercial Display is a display made primarily for the purpose of enticing a viewer to purchase a product or service on in the promotion of a brand.  Or a display made which contains advertising, or which is displayed on a platform in which the Affiliated Entity receives payment for views. Displays with mixed purposes shall be considered Commercial Displays. In determining whether a display as a whole is a commercial display, the Tour will determine whether the media contains a call to action for the viewer to engage in a commercial transaction, or whether the displays contains embedded or platform advertising.

SITE ACCESS FEES & COMMERCIAL LICENSING

New in 2023 is the standardization of site access fees at DGPT events. These fees operate on a sliding scale based on Credential Holder / Affiliated Entity type as well as the planned use for the media to be captured at the event.

After you submit your credential request, the DGPT will inform you of any site access fees that would accompany your credential approval.

Site Access Fees (split between the DGPT and Event Teams)

  1. At all DGPT events, an approved Credential Holder intending to capture media must pay a site access fee according to the table below. Payment of this fee must be made prior to the start of the event and will be invoiced from the DGPT. Site access fees may be waived at the sole discretion of the DGPT.
  2. Up to 50% of these fees may be set against any media use credits held by DGPT Partners as a condition of their agreement with the DGPT.
  3. At all DGPT Events, the presenting partner(s) of the Event is exempt from all site access fees.
