The OTB Open returns in 2023 for its third year on the Elite Series. After two years of running the San Francisco Open (a former Elite Series event), Tournament Directors Sean Jack and Shawn Mercy partnered with OTB Discs to move the event to Stockton, CA, and install a temp course at Swenson Park. Now, the OTB Open marks the start of the West Coast swing and has been a staple on Tour since 2021.
Swenson Park is, in a word, LONG. Measuring in at over 11,700 FT for the MPO layout and nearly 10,000 FT for the FPO variation, the course is in the ground only for a few months out of each year on the Swenson Park ball golf course. Course designer Leonard Muise (course designer for Golden Gate Park in San Francisco, among others), has been able to create an exciting layout to challenge even the best players on Tour by using the natural landscape to his advantage – with plenty of specific gap shots, water carries, and tight OB where it matters the most, the course will demand more than just distance off the tee.
This year, a total of 160 players (MPO and FPO combined) competed for the projected $66,000 purse of this year’s event. Congratulations to our MPO Champion Emerson Keith for shooting a 1020 rated round at -23 and to our FPO Champion Paige Pierce for shooting a 966 rated round at -25.
