The 2024 Dynamic Discs Open is the 8th stop on the DGPT tour, held in Emporia, KS. Eric McCabe and Gabe Werly founded the Glass Blown Open in 2003 as a PDGA B-Tier with 88 competitors. World-renowned artist Hal Berger designed the original glass trophies, adding prestige to the event. After Hal’s passing in 2006, Brice Turnbull, his apprentice, took over the trophy-making.
The event quickly surpassed McCabe and Werly’s dreams, becoming the world’s largest disc golf event. In 2020, it was renamed the Dynamic Discs Open. After 2022, the event split into professional (MPO, FPO) and amateur divisions.
This year, a grand total of 150 players, encompassing both MPO and FPO divisions, competed for a total purse of $75,501. Congratulations to your MPO Champion Calvin Heimburg and FPO Champion Missy Gannon! Read more about this year’s edition of the Dynamic Discs Open.
