Vintage Open and Jonesboro Open announced as Phase 2 Events in COVID-19 Policy
Jeffersonville, VT – March 29, 2021: The next two events on the Disc Golf Pro Tour will be held in Phase 2 of the COVID-19 Requirements and Best Practices. Until now, all the events during the 2021 season were held in Phase 1 of the COVID-19 Policy. The most significant changes between Phase 1 & 2 are the return of caddies and limited spectating.
The Disc Golf Pro Tour has laid out clear guidelines for event spectating requirements during Phase 2 events. All spectators will be accompanied by staff and/or volunteers and will only be allowed to access pre-determined spectator areas or move around the course in guided groups. All spectators must purchase tickets before arriving on site, and follow the guidelines laid out for each event, which will be communicated upon purchase.
Both events will open ticket sales this Friday, April 2 through the Disc Golf Pro Tour website. Stay tuned for more information about ticket sales. The Jonesboro Open, an open course with large spectator areas, will be the first Elite Series event to welcome spectators back in 2021. The DGPT is excited to welcome spectators back to events responsibly.
Phase designations are determined as a collaborative decision between the DGPT (and PDGA during National Tour events) and the local organizing committees or event teams based on the state of the pandemic nationally, regionally, locally and the subsequent policies in place. The DGPT is committed to providing a responsible and comfortable event experience for all staff, media, volunteers, competitors and spectators at all DGPT events. The phase designations for the next two events, the Mid America Open and Dynamic Discs Open, will be released in the coming weeks.
