DGPT’s Jonesboro Open Raises $45,000 for St. Jude, Adds $27,500 to Pro Payout

Jonesboro, AR – April 16, 2021: The Play it Again Sports Jonesboro Open presented by Prodigy has announced a significant increase in added cash to the 2021 edition of their event while simultaneously delivering for their new partner St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. Working in conjunction with St. Jude’s, TD Brad Pietz and Cameron Campbell (Owner of Play it Again Sports in Jonesboro, AR) are delivering $45,000 to the Children’s Hospital while adding $27,500 to the Jonesboro Open Purse, nearly doubling 2020’s added cash of $14,250 to the event. The total 2021 event purse is now over $61,000 for the Men’s and Women’s Pro divisions. 

“We’re thrilled to be working with St. Jude’s. They’re a great organization and a very worthy cause. We see big things for the future years of the Jonesboro Open with St Jude’s as a partner,” said Tournament Director Brad Pietz. “Play it Again Sports has been integral in pushing the Jonesboro Open to new heights, and we want to thank them and owner Cameron Campbell for the vision to grow the event.”

The Disc Golf Pro Tour has now seen all three Elite Series events deliver over $20,000 in added cash (LVC and WACO at $30,000 and $20,000, respectively). “I’m pleased with the hard work of the event teams on the ground to elevate the purses this season,” said DGPT CEO & Director Jeff Spring. “While the DGPT minimum added cash for 2021 is $15,000, we are all working hard to deliver purse increases that reflect the tremendous growth the sport has seen recently.”

The Disc Golf Network (www.discgolfnetwork.com) will be broadcasting live coverage of each of the three rounds of the Jonesboro Open, Friday through Sunday, with Sunday coverage being simulcast live on the Disc Golf Pro Tour’s YouTube channel.
