TruBank Des Moines Challenge To Deliver Over $100K Purse

With over $62k added cash, this is the first 3-round DGPT event delivering a $100,000 purse!

August 19th, 2022: Today the TruBank Des Moines Challenge presented by Discraft kicked off at Pickard Park in Des Moines, IA. In its 32nd year of operation with 18 years on the PDGA A-tier schedule, the event is no stranger to the process of fundraising top-level added cash. This year is no exception with the pro purse hitting $100,000 thanks to $62,500 of added cash. First-place winnings are projected at $11,000 for the MPO division & $7,000 for the FPO division. 

“The event team is proud to deliver this level of added cash to the DMC purse,” said Ty Tannatt, DMC Tournament Director. “We want to give a big thank you to our partners, especially to TruBank and Discraft, for their support!”

“While 4+ round DGPT events in the past have broken the $100,000 purse mark, never in our tour’s history has it been done at a 3-day event,” said Jeff Spring, DGPT CEO & Tour Director. “We are proud of the DMC team, thankful for the support of the greater Des Moines Community, and appreciative of the event partners for their role in making this event a huge success!”

With the World Championships just around the corner and the DGPT playoffs to commence shortly afterward, the Des Moines Challenge marks the end of the regular Elite Series season.  Daily live broadcasts of the event are available on the Disc Golf Network at 9:30 AM CT & 3:30 PM CT with the final round also available on the DGPT YouTube channel.
