COVID-19 Cases at the OTB Open

By Charles McCracken

For Immediate Release:

COVID-19 Cases at the OTB Open

May 19th, 2022: Yesterday, the Disc Golf Pro Tour was made aware that one registered competitor and one media personnel member scheduled to be at the OTB Open this weekend had tested positive for COVID-19. Both individuals have removed themselves from the event and immediately notified the DGPT staff on-site. Our staff then initiated contact tracing protocols as necessary for any players or personnel who were recently exposed to these individuals.

Per our COVID-19 Policy, the DGPT identifies and notifies close contacts of all players who test positive through contact tracing. All those who have been in close contact with anyone who has tested positive for COVID-19 are required to provide a negative test result before competing, working, or volunteering at an event.

Through the contact tracing process, the DGPT has not identified any other positive cases. The operations staff on site is prepared to initiate further testing and contact tracing should more individuals test positive or begin experiencing symptoms.

The Disc Golf Pro Tour has COVID-19 tests available and is providing free testing to players and event staff in compliance with our COVID-19 policy

We wish these individuals a speedy recovery and encourage anyone involved with our event to seek testing should they experience any symptoms. The OTB Open begins tomorrow, May 19th, 2022 in Stockton, CA.
