Portland Open Update
Concert Details | Bevel Craft Brewing Collaborations
May 26th, 2022: With the Portland Open up next on the 2022 Tour schedule, the DGPT is happy to release final details on new spectator experience enhancements including three specialty craft beer releases specific to the tournament.
Concert Details Announced – Free Entrance to All Spectators
Joey Dosik, a Los Angeles-based singer-songwriter, will be featured as a part of the 2022 DGPT limited concert series curated by newly announced DGPT Music Director, Cory Wong. Dosik will front a four-piece band at the Portland Open on June 4th at an on-site stage located at the Glendoveer Golf and Tennis complex in Portland, Oregon. The concert will be free for all tournament spectators but Portland locals can purchase a stand-alone concert ticket that is separate from the concert-inclusive spectating passes. Touring professional and DJ Kevin Jones, who recently performed live at the OTB Open, will also be performing an opening set. Jones is expected to continue with live performances throughout the rest of the season at other DGPT concerts based on availability. Tour Card holders will be given free access to the concert and are encouraged to interact with fans via meet and greet/signature sessions.
Three Specialty Beer Releases
“Holy Shot” – James Conrad & Bevel Brewing Collab
“Holy Shot” is a collaboration brew with 2021 and reigning World Champion, James Conrad, and Bevel Craft Brewing out of Bend, Oregon. Cans will be available on Friday, June 2nd at Blue Lake Regional Park from 6-8 pm at the main pavilion. All “Holy Shot” cans sales will be “to-go” only; however, this beer will also be on draft for on-site consumption for spectators and players on Saturday and Sunday at Glendoveer inside the Bevel beer tents.
The beer release will also coincide with a matching disc design printed by MVP Disc Sports. James Conrad will be at the booth during the beer release on Friday to sell these discs, and be available for a meet and greet disc signing as well.
There is no doubt that the “Holy Shot” will be one of the most historic shots the sport will ever see, and the Bevel team is honored to celebrate it with James with this crushable, juicy fruit-forward IPA. James worked with Bevel to create this beer according to his tastes and his ideal hop flavor profile. The “Holy Shot” is an American IPA with a medium body and a smooth mouthfeel. This beer was brewed with Simcoe, Cashmere, and BRU-1 hops featuring citrus notes with a hint of mango and tropical fruit sweetness with a slight bitterness to create balance.
“Full Send” – Bevel Brewing & Von Ebert Collab.
Available Saturday, June 4 & Sunday, June 5 for on-site consumption at Glendoveer inside the Bevel beer tents. Two kegs will also be available on tap inside Von Ebert brewery. “Full Send” is an American Pale that sits at 5.7% ABV. Brewer’s Supply Group generously donated grain and hops to assist Bevel in this brew day. The hop additions consisted of Comet, Citra, CryoPop, and Idaho Gem with a pinch of Ekuanot for a balanced bitterness. This beer shines with bright citrus aromas and notes of orange zest, blood orange, and grapefruit pith. It’s light in body and a perfect behind the ropes beverage to spectate disc golf’s top athletes. While the players on the course will be throwing “Full Sends” – the fans will be ordering them!
“Steve” – Little Hop Brewing (Draft). Available Saturday, June 4 & Sunday, June 5 for on-site consumption at Glendoveer inside the Bevel beer tents. This beer was brewed by Little Hop Brewing of Portland, Oregon, and is named in honor of a dear friend of the brewery who was passionate about the sport but unfortunately lost a battle with cancer. This brew commemorates Steve’s love for disc golf and the joy that it brought to him throughout his life. All proceeds from these beer sales will be donated to a memorial fund for Steve Arpin via Universal Play Disc Golf.
All-inclusive tickets for the event are still available.
